SPLC Publishes Patriot Hit List

In a report on its web site dated April 2010, entitled “Meet The Patriots,” the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) profiled “36 individuals at the heart of the resurgent [patriot] movement.” (In reading the list, I counted only 35 “patriots” and 5 “enablers” for a total of 40. I’m not really sure how the SPLC came up with “36.” Perhaps their ability to count is commensurate with their ability to appreciate patriotism and liberty.) The SPLC (founded by Morris Dees) sees itself as America’s guardian against “right wing militias” and loves to label conservatives and libertarians that it doesn’t like as “extremists.” The SPLC is one of the most ultra-liberal organizations in the country and should be dismissed as a group of paranoid leftists, not worthy of thought or mention.

Christian Israelis Ask Jews not to Spit on Them

A few weeks ago, a senior Greek Orthodox clergyman in Israel attended a meeting at a government office in Jerusalem’s Givat Shaul quarter. When he returned to his car, an elderly man wearing a skullcap came and knocked on the window. When the clergyman let the window down, the passerby spat in his face.

Teachers Poke-Fun of Black History and Get Suspended

LOS ANGELES — Three Los Angeles school teachers have been suspended for giving children pictures of O.J. Simpson, Dennis Rodman and RuPaul to carry in a Black History Month parade.

Los Angeles school district spokeswoman Gayle Pollard-Terry said Wednesday the teachers were removed from their classrooms at Wadsworth Elementary School. She says the teachers, who are white, could have chosen more appropriate choices such as Oprah Winfrey or Kobe Bryant.

JOHN DAY, Ore. (AP) – Grant County residents are rallying against the possibility that a white supremacist group may establish its base in John Day.

Paul R. Mullet, who described himself as the national director of the Aryan Nations, visited John Day on eastern Oregon last week, telling people he was looking at property in the city for a possible national headquarters, Mayor Bob Quinton said.

On Monday, 60 to 70 people protested the supremacist group in a downtown rally, carrying signs with slogans such as “One Race: Human,” “No to Aryan Nations!” and “Say No to Hate and Violence!”

ATLANTA (AP) — After days of controversy over a white group’s win in a step competition, sponsor Coca-Cola said Thursday the second-place team will share top honors.
