Is Terror an Option for the Occupied and Oppressed Palestinians?
My answer is “No” but I think the question needs to be asked. It was provoked in my mind by a recent Ynet op-ed article by Ziv Lenchner, described as a left-leaning, Jewish Israeli artist. The headline over his piece was Israelis to Obama – we don’t care, don’t bother us. Lenchner’s article, published on 28 March, took the discussion about what most Israeli Jews really want – disengagement from the occupied West Bank or annexation – beyond the answer given by Noam Sheizaf writing in Maariv on 4 December last year. The headline over his piece was We have become addicted to the status quo. http://www.alanhart.net/is-terror-an-option-for-the-occupied-and-oppressed-palestinians/#.UXqDWoh-7oE.email

The End of Jewish Power
Israel suffered a humiliating defeat at The UN yesterday. The nations of the world stood up and said NO to the Jewish state – NO to Israeli occupation, NO to Israeli human rights abuse, NO to Jewish racism. In effect, they stood up and confessed to serious Zio-fatigue. Despite Jewish success in constantly reminding Europeans of their tormented past, Europe yesterday delivered itself of its guilt and Israel’s European allies such as Germany, France, Britain and Italy also delivered a clear messages to Israel – they are right out of patience. The rest of the world is at last finding the courage to realise that it can well do without a Jewish state that is nothing but trouble and a grave threat to world peace. http://www.gilad.co.uk/writings/the-end-of-jewish-power-1.html

The Palestinians’ Only Option
In the final countdown to the UN General Assembly vote on recognition of Palestine as a non-member state, the PLO has indicated that it’s expecting “a pleasant surprise,” it being the number of European countries which will not do Zionism’s bidding on this occasion and will vote for the resolution. Victory for the Palestinians in this forum can be taken for granted, and it will help to further isolate the Israel of Netanyahu as a pariah state, but. It won’t be, can’t be, a substitute for a viable strategy to secure justice for the Palestinians. http://www.alanhart.net/the-palestinians-only-option/

‘People Are Resisting by Existing’: Gaza After the Bombing
Gaza had endured eight days of bombardment by air, land and sea. Israel deployed F-16s, attack helicopters and warships to fire on the densely populated territory of more than 1.7 million people. Over 160 Palestinians were killed, eighty-nine of them civilians. Among them were thirty-one children, according to PHCR. Five Israelis were killed in Palestinian rocket attacks. http://www.thenation.com/article/171428/people-are-resisting-existing-gaza-after-bombing#

Puppet State America
by Paul Craig Roberts. The United States government and its subject peoples think of the U.S. as “the world’s only superpower.” But how is a country a superpower when its entire government and a majority of the subjects, especially those members of evangelical churches, grovel at the feet of the Israeli Prime Minister? How is a country a superpower when it lacks the power to determine its own foreign policy in the Middle East? Such a country is not a superpower. It is a puppet state. In the past few days we have witnessed, yet again, the “American superpower” groveling at Netanyahu’s feet. When Netanyahu decided to again murder the Palestinian women and children of Gaza, to further destroy what remains of the social infrastructure of the Gaza Ghetto, and to declare Israeli war crimes and Israeli crimes against humanity to be merely the exercise of “self-defense,” the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives, the White House, and the U.S. media all promptly declared their support for Netanyahu’s crimes.

Israel’s Real Agenda

Jewish Domination? Occupation More Likely
The Palestinian solidarity movement stands at the edge of “polite society.” You can still belong to a Palestinian solidarity committee and not fear losing your job, unless you work in the very heart of the Zionist beast (e.g. the ADL or the U.S. Congress). Part of the reason that Palestinian solidarity activists have been largely protected from the stigmatizing charge of anti-Semitism is the disproportionately large number of Jews involved in the movement, including its leadership positions. However, as Gilad Atzmon has been pointing out in his critique of anti-Zionist Zionists, the Jewish involvement in the movement has been a two-edge sword. These same Jewish activists who provide cover from charges of anti-Semitism also police the movement to make sure that the taboo on discussion of Jewish power is preserved. And when it comes down to it, many Jewish activists in the movement are probably more worried about a backlash against their power due to Zionists going too far than they are about the plight of the Palestinians. http://www.davidduke.com/?p=36611

Europe and U.S. Richly Reward Israel for Pariah Status
Jonathan Cook exposes the complicity of the European Union and the United States in Israel’s occupation and ethnic cleansing of the occupied Palestinian territories, showing how, as Israel accelerates its land grabs and colonizing of the West Bank, the EU and U.S. have chosen to reward, not punish, the racist Zionist entity. http://www.redress.cc/palestine/jcook20120731

Who Killed Yasser Arafat?
Arafat’s Ramallah compound had been bombed several times by the Israelis, and they had the place surrounded – yet still he persisted. They couldn’t get him out. Worse, his plight was becoming a metaphor for the condition of his people, who were – and still are – prisoners in their own land. A former adviser claimed he was poisoned by the Israelis, who detained the Palestinian ambulance used to deliver Arafat’s medications to the Ramallah compound. At the time, one tended to write this off as a purely polemical exercise: in light of the new evidence, however, the question has to be asked. http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/07/03/who-killed-yasser-arafat/

Israel Demolishes Arab Village 38 Times
Palestinian villagers have addressed the Guinness Book of World Records to register a ruinous “record”. A Bedouin village in Israel has been demolished 38 times by Israeli authorities, who say people in the village do not have building permits. Al-Araqeeb village with population of 500 residents in the Negev claim their some 40 homes have been destroyed over three dozen times by Israel Land Administration. Residents of the Al-Turi Arab Bedouin tribe insist they are being pushed off their own land. “We have ownership documents that go back to the Ottoman era,” the head of the Committee for the Defense of al-Araqeeb, Awad Abu Farih, stated to Anatolian news agency. http://www.rt.com/news/bedouin-village-destroyed-israel-898/

Warning: Visiting Israel is Dangerous
Arrivals supporting Palestinian rights risk harshness. Don’t come wearing jerseys or bearing signs saying solidarity with Palestine. Don’t say you plan West Bank East Jerusalem, and/or Gaza visits. Worse is admitting you’ll help build schools, plant trees, or repair damaged wells. Don’t suggest you plan protesting against illegal settlement construction. If asked, don’t tell. Any one or combination of these may result in close encounters with security forces leaving lasting impressions and realization that avoiding trouble requires staying mum. http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/04/20/warning-visiting-israel-is-dangerous/

During a recent demonstration in Hebron (Al Khalil) demanding the opening of Shuhada street, protesters were subjected to something that could only have been thought up in the United States – a weapon which comes with its own commercial. Amid the sound of concussion grenades exploding, an automated voice announces: “This is a test of the long range acoustic device, LRAD, from American Technologies Corporation.” The strange automated message serves as a reminder that the Israeli occupation is not just a local or regional issue but one with important international dimensions. http://uruknet.com/?p=m86745&hd=&size=1&l=e

The United States of Denial
Newt Gingrich is no doubt a revolutionary political thinker. He has managed to offer an adequate solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflict. In an interview with Steven Weiss of The Jewish Channel, Gingrich said that the Palestinians are an ‘invented people.’ “I think that we’ve had an invented Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs, and were historically part of the Arab community. And they had a chance to go to many places.” Such an approach to world affairs is consistent with both Walt Disney’s phantasmic vision of reality and Zionist Golda Meir who back in 1969 announced that there was “no such thing as a Palestinian people… It is not as if we came and threw them out and took their country. They didn’t exist.” http://batr.org/view/121111.html

Washington Loses on Own-Goal Hat Trick
One can reasonably argue that the United Nations is not worth the time, effort, and money that it consumes, but there is a disturbing willingness on the part of Washington to abandon any pretense of an independent foreign policy where Israel is concerned. The United States has absolutely no national interest that compels it to deny Palestinian statehood, and it is only making itself even more ridiculous, irrelevant, and isolated internationally by inflicting massive and disproportionate punishment on most of the world over an issue that should not even be in dispute. Washington’s withdrawal from the rest of the world will admittedly be welcomed by many, though it only means that we Americans will be further down the road in the transition to rogue-state status. http://original.antiwar.com/giraldi/2011/11/09/washington-loses-on-own-goal-hat-trick/

Living Under Israel’s Boot
Like occupied people everywhere, Palestinians understand oppression better than experts. Ask them. They’ll explain. In Gaza, it means living under siege and Israeli air, land and sea attacks. West Bank communities face day and night incursions. In the week ending October 27, 58 were conducted, nearly 10 a day. Israel arrests Palestinians while releasing others. Every Palestinian wonders when their loved ones may be taken in middle of the night raids, including children young as ten. http://www.bobtuskin.com/2011/10/31/living-under-israels-boot/

Let’s Get Out of the Middle East – and the UN
by Ron Paul. The Palestinian Authority’s recent announcement that it would seek U.N. recognition as an independent state dominated the news and the political debate in the United States last week, though in truth it should mean very little to us. Only a political class harboring the illusion it can run the world obsesses over the aspirations of a tiny population on a tiny piece of land thousands of miles away. Remember, the U.N. initiated this persistent conflict with its 1947 Partition Plan. Unfortunately, the debate is dominated by those who either support the Israeli side in the conflict, or those who support the Palestinian desire for statehood. We rarely seem to hear the view of those who support the U.S. side and U.S. interests. I am on that side. I believe that we can no longer police the world. http://original.antiwar.com/paul/2011/09/26/lets-get-out-of-the-middle-east-and-the-un/

Carter Tells Obama: Don’t Veto Palestine’s UN Bid
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has called on the Obama administration not to veto a UN Security Council vote for Palestinian statehood expected to take place this week. “If I were president, I’d be very glad to see the Palestinians have a nation recognized by the United Nations,” Carter said in a Sunday interview with the U.S.-based National Public Radio (NPR). Carter emphasized that “there’s no downside to it.” The former American president admitted that if President Barack Obama resisted Tel Aviv’s pressure and did not veto Palestinian statehood bid at the UN, the powerful Israeli lobby in the U.S. would punish Obama. “But I think it’s a price worth paying,” he underlined. Carter said that today, Palestinian statehood should be a basic moral commitment for the United States. http://www.tehrantimes.com/index.php/world/2724-carter-tells-obama-dont-veto-palestines-un-bid

No Freedom for Palestine, Thunders Washington
A majority of the world’s nations are fed up by the endless suffering of the stateless Palestinians and support creation of a Palestinian state on the West Bank and Gaza. Turkey’s increasingly influential premier, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, went to Cairo last week and spoke for the world: “Let’s raise the Palestinian flag and let that flag be the symbol of peace and justice in the Middle East.” The United States is desperately scrambling to head off a favorable vote in the UN. Washington threatens to veto any pro-Palestine vote in the Security Council – that alone can grant statehood status to a new state. The U.S. is exerting huge pressure on allies and dependant states to vote against any resolution in the General Assembly. http://www.commondreams.org/view/2011/09/18

Palestine and the Irresistible Winds of Change
The Palestinians are going to declare statehood, or nationhood, in September, regardless of whatever does or doesn’t happen, concerning the international backing being sought. Right on cue, the Ashke-Nazi’s have come up with their own final solution to the problem they created. What this does is make the time frame between now and then a very critical phase; stinking of possible massive false flags, to usurp the timeline in whatever way possible. http://smokingmirrors.blogspot.com/2011/07/palestine-and-irrestible-winds-of.html

Israel in a Strategic Dead End
They are extraordinary scenes. Film shot on mobile phones captured the moment on Sunday when at least 1,000 Palestinian refugees marched across no-man’s land to one of the most heavily protected borders in the world, the one separating Syria from the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Waving Palestinian flags, the marchers braved a minefield, then tore down a series of fences, allowing more than 100 to run into Israeli-controlled territory. As they embraced Druze villagers on the other side, voices could be heard saying: “This is what liberation looks like.” Unlike previous years, this Nakba Day was not simply a commemoration of the catastrophe that befell the Palestinians in 1948, when their homeland was forcibly reinvented as the Jewish state. It briefly reminded Palestinians that, despite their long-enforced dispersion, they still have the potential to forge a common struggle against Israel. As Israel violently cracked down on last Sunday’s protests on many fronts — in the West Bank, Gaza, Jerusalem and on the borders with Syria and Lebanon — it looked less like a military superpower and more like the proverbial boy with his finger in the dam. http://www.counterpunch.org/cook05182011.html

Israel’s Doomed Fate
It is becoming clear that Israel lacks the means to cope with Palestinian resilience. Despite Israeli barbarism; despite sixty-three years of oppression, racial discrimination and mass murderous tactics– including the usage of WMD– the Palestinian people have remained determined to return to their land. This week they reminded the Israelis, world Jewry and the rest of the world that the Palestinian cause is not going to fade away. If anything, in 2011, Palestinians seem more decisive, firm and united than their parents’ or grandparents’ generations. http://www.gilad.co.uk/writings/gilad-atzmon-israels-doomed-fate.html

A New Truth Dawns on the Arab World
The Palestine Papers are as damning as the Balfour Declaration. The Palestinian “Authority” – one has to put this word in quotation marks – was prepared, and is prepared to give up the “right of return” of perhaps seven million refugees to what is now Israel for a “state” that may be only 10 per cent (at most) of British mandate Palestine. And as these dreadful papers are revealed, the Egyptian people are calling for the downfall of President Mubarak, and the Lebanese are appointing a prime minister who will supply the Hezbollah. Rarely has the Arab world seen anything like this. http://www.readersupportednews.org/off-site-opinion-section/133-133/4753-a-new-truth-dawns-on-the-arab-world

Shot in the Head — Gabrielle Giffords, Tom Hurndall and Palestinian Children
There is something particularly horrifying when someone is shot in the head. Perhaps it’s the gruesome image, the destruction of the brain, the clear intent to kill. The recent shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is made even more nightmarish by the location of her devastating injury. Those of us who focus on Israel-Palestine are acutely aware of this horror. Several years ago, I was researching the cause of death of Palestinian children killed by Israeli forces during the first months of the Second Intifadah, the Palestinian uprising against Israeli occupation. As I counted up the numbers, I was chilled to discover that the single most frequent cause of death in those beginning months was “gunfire to the head.” http://counterpunch.org/weir01142011.html

Serving Up Palestine One Slice at a Time
As of last week, 110 countries in the United Nations have extended diplomatic recognition to the State of Palestine. All recognize Palestine as including the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, essentially the borders as they existed prior to the June 1967 Six Day War. Nearly every country in Latin America, Asia, and Africa has recognized Palestinian statehood and there are indications that many European nations will soon follow suit. Which leaves the United States, yet again, on the wrong side of history. In fact, Washington has gone in completely the opposite direction, insisting that there cannot be any Palestinian state until negotiations are completed between the two parties involved, meaning that Israel shall have a veto on any such development and will postpone it until some time in the next century. http://original.antiwar.com/giraldi/2011/01/19/serving-up-palestine-one-slice-at-a-time/
