The IRS’s Job is to Violate Our Liberties
by Ron Paul. The bipartisan tradition of using the IRS as a tool to harass political opponents suggests that the problem is deeper than just a few “rogue” IRS agents – or even corruption within one, two, three or many administrations. Instead, the problem lies in the extraordinary power the tax system grants the IRS. The IRS routinely obtains information about how we earn a living, what investments we make, what we spend on ourselves and our families, and even what charitable and religious organizations we support. Starting next year, the IRS will be collecting personally identifiable health insurance information in order to ensure we are complying with Obamacare’s mandates. The current tax laws even give the IRS power to marginalize any educational, political, or even religious organizations whose goals, beliefs, and values are not favored by the current regime by denying those organizations “tax-free” status. This is the root of the latest scandal involving the IRS. The U.S. flourished for over 120 years without an income tax, and our liberty and prosperity will only benefit from getting rid of the current tax system. The federal government will get along just fine without its immoral claim on the fruits of our labor, particularly if the elimination of federal income taxes are accompanied by serious reduction in all areas of spending, starting with the military spending beloved by so many who claim to be opponents of high taxes and big government. http://lewrockwell.com/paul/paul860.html

Ron Paul: ‘This is a House of Cards’
With no recovery in sight, where’s all this money going? It is creating bubbles. Bubbles in the housing sector, the stock market, and government debt. The national debt is fast approaching $17 trillion, with the Fed monetizing most of the newly issued debt. The stock market has been hitting record highs for the past two months as investors seek to capitalize on the Fed’s easy money. After all, as long as the Fed keeps the spigot open, nominal profits are there for the taking. But this is a house of cards. Eventually, just like in 2008-2009, the market will discipline the bad actions of the Fed and seek to find the real normal. In the meantime, real families are suffering. While Wall Street and the government take advantage of access to the Fed’s new “free” money, the Fed claims there is no inflation. But who hasn’t paid higher prices at the grocery store, the gas pump, for tuition, for insurance? http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2013-05-05/ron-paul-house-cards

Ron Paul: Boston Manhunt Scarier Than Attack
Former Rep. Ron Paul said the law enforcement that swarmed around Boston in the days following the marathon bombings was scarier than the actual terrorist attack. “The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city,” he said on the Lew Rockwell website, Politico reported. “This unprecedented move should frighten us as much or more than the attack itself.” http://www.wnd.com/2013/04/ron-paul-boston-manhunt-scarier-than-attack/?cat_orig=us

Neo-Con War Addiction Threatens Our Future
by Ron Paul. The neo-con ideology promotes endless war, but neo-cons fight their battles with the blood of others. From the comfortable, subsidized offices of magazines like the Weekly Standard, the neo-conservatives urge the United States to engage in endless war – to be fought by the victims of the “poverty draft” from states where there are few jobs. Ironically, these young people cannot find more productive work because the Federal Reserve’s endless money printing to keep the war machine turning has destroyed our economy. The six trillion dollars that will be spent on the Iraq war are merely pieces of printed paper that further erode the dollar’s purchasing power now and well into the future. It is the inflation tax, which is the most regressive and cruel of all. http://original.antiwar.com/paul/2013/03/24/neo-con-war-addiction-threatens-our-future/

The Coming Debt Limit Drama: Government Wins, We Lose
by Ron Paul. Last week President Obama bluntly warned Congress that he will not negotiate when it comes to raising the statutory debt limit. If Republicans attempt to use a debt ceiling vote to win concessions on spending from the White House, Mr. Obama threatens simply to raise the limit by executive order or other unilateral action. This is business as usual in Washington. Democrats literally do not believe we have a deficit and debt problem, and reliably propose greater borrowing and spending. Republicans talk a good game when it comes to government debt, but have no credibility to argue against deficits or abuses of executive power. Brinksmanship ensues, and ugly compromises are reached at the 11th hour. We all lose as the endless borrowing and money printing further erode our dollar and our economy. http://the-free-foundation.org/tst1-21-2013.html

Ron Paul: Guns Are Americans’ ‘Line in the Sand’
The former Congressman challenged those calling for Americans to be disarmed in the name of protecting children. “If the government kills children it’s OK….How many of them are shouting and screaming about the children our drones are killing on a daily basis?,” asked Paul. Paul is referring to the fact that Barack Obama has overseen a drone strike policy that has killed at least 168 children in Pakistan alone – over eight times the number killed by Sandy Hook gunman Adam Lanza. A staggering 98% of the victims of Obama’s drone strike policy have been innocent civilians. “Compared to the violence that the government has perpetuated on the people compared to what the people do to each other, there’s no contest,” said Paul, referring to the fact that democide, or death by government, has killed hundreds of million of non-military civilians in the last 100 years alone. http://www.infowars.com/ron-paul-guns-are-americans-line-in-the-sand/

Government Security is Just Another Kind of Violence
by Ron Paul. The senseless and horrific killings last week in Newtown, Connecticut reminded us that a determined individual or group of individuals can cause great harm no matter what laws are in place. Connecticut already has restrictive gun laws relative to other states, including restrictions on fully automatic, so-called “assault” rifles and gun-free zones. Predictably, the political left responded to the tragedy with emotional calls for increased gun control. This is understandable, but misguided. The impulse to have government “do something” to protect us in the wake national tragedies is reflexive and often well intentioned. Many Americans believe that if we simply pass the right laws, future horrors like the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting can be prevented. But this impulse ignores the self evident truth that criminals don’t obey laws. The political right, unfortunately, has fallen into the same trap in its calls for quick legislative solutions to gun violence. If only we put armed police or armed teachers in schools, we’re told, would-be school shooters will be dissuaded or stopped. http://paul.house.gov/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2037&Itemid=69

Expanding Covert Warfare Makes Us Less Safe
In 2010, I said in a speech that there had been a CIA coup in this country. The CIA runs the military, the drone program, and they are in drug trafficking. The CIA is a secretive government all on its own. With this new expanded Defense Intelligence Agency presence overseas it will be even worse. Because the DIA is operationally under control of the Pentagon, direct Congressional oversight of the program will be more difficult. Perhaps this is as intended. The CIA will be training the DIA in its facilities to conduct operations overseas. Much of this will include developing targeting data for the president’s expanding drone warfare program. http://lewrockwell.com/paul/paul836.html

Farewell to a Giant
There is no doubt in my mind that history will regard Dr. Paul as the greatest congressman in US history. Ron Paul has done more to guard and defend liberty and constitutional government than perhaps any man since Thomas Jefferson. Dr. Paul’s legacy and influence will remain after most congressmen and senators have been long forgotten. What Patrick Henry was to Colonial America, Ron Paul has been to modern America. I am so grateful for the opportunity to get to personally know this man and to be able to call him my friend. It was with the utmost sadness that I watched Ron Paul give his Farewell Address to Congress last week. As he concluded his remarks and walked away from the Well of the House, I wept. I thought to myself: “There goes the greatest champion of liberty in a century; we may never see his likes again.” I wasn’t weeping for Dr. Paul though; I was weeping for America. http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/archives/5275

Ron Paul on Secession — Are We Free to Go?
There is nothing treasonous or unpatriotic about wanting a federal government that is more responsive to the people it represents. That is what our Revolutionary War was all about and today our own federal government is vastly overstepping its constitutional bounds with no signs of reform. At what point should the people dissolve the political bands which have connected them with an increasingly tyrannical and oppressive federal government? If people or states are not free to leave the United States as a last resort, can they really think of themselves as free? If a people cannot secede from an oppressive government, they cannot truly be considered free. http://www.silverdoctors.com/ron-paul-secession-are-we-free-to-go/

Why Obama Won
Barack Obama won the U.S. presidency for the same reason Romney would have…the same reason Ron Paul never had the ghost of a chance. Jewish big media puff some candidates and make others disappear. Jewish media, not the people, elect major political leaders. (Google “media bias against Ron Paul” and you’ll find more than a hundred articles documenting such bias against Paul, as also has existed against conservatives in every Presidential election in recent decades.) More than a century ago, “Christian” America, led by pro-Zionist evangelicals, adopted a policy of non-criticism of Jews and Zionism. In doing so, America invited Jewish supremacists to determine the future of our nation, including the privilege of determining who runs Congress and is President. http://www.truthtellers.org/alerts/WhyObamaWon.html

Election 2012: Ron Paul’s Revenge
What’s particularly nervy — galling, really — about the idea that the US ought to be spreading our democratic system across the globe is the fact that we don’t have anything close to democracy in this country. Nor do we have what the Founders intended to create: a republic, where the power of the state is limited by the Constitution. This is underscored every time Americans go to the polls, where they are confronted with “choices” determined by lawmakers whose chief interest in life is getting reelected with as little opposition as possible. These guardians of the polity have made it virtually impossible for so-called third parties — i.e. parties not controlled by corporate interests and foreign lobbyists — to even get on the ballot. And if you don’t like this state of affairs, and take action, the State will smack you right in the face. Take the case of Richard Winger, the third party expert and political analyst, editor of Ballot Access News, who, together with other interested parties, sued the state of California so that all candidates would have an equal right to show their party label on the ballot. With the passage of an “open primary” law, which effectively abolished third parties, California’s third party candidates couldn’t even identify themselves on the ballot. The lawsuit failed, however, and the judge ruled that the plaintiffs had to pay the court costs of the big corporate moneybags who had sponsored the “open primary” legislation to being with. Winger and his fellow third partiers got a bill for $243,279.50. Isn’t “democracy” wonderful? Well, no, it isn’t, not the current American version, which merely serves to legitimize — in a “legal” sense, at any rate — what is in reality an oligarchy. http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/11/06/election-2012-ron-pauls-revenge/

A Dream Dies, But the Beat Goes On
I am still trying to recover from the Republican Party’s overwhelming failure to understand that only Ron Paul was speaking good sense about the dismal state of U.S. foreign policy. Depending on whom you listen to, however, one might almost think in spite of all evidence to the contrary that the revolution is still going on and just one more tweak will deliver a Brave New World. That is because hardly a day passes without yet another email from the various organizations that are seeking to cash in on the Ron Paul legacy, demonstrating that they have the moxie to continue the fight. The most recent email from John Tate and Campaign for Liberty pledged to do something about drones, the latest empty promise that comes on top of not-quite-achieved victories in auditing the Fed and Pentagon and defending the Internet. Just send $50 or whatever one can spare. We’ll spend it wisely. Really. In spite of it all, I strongly believe that Dr. Paul’s immense contribution to the political debate forced something of a rethinking of the unfortunate direction that our nation has taken in the past 10 years. His message continues to resonate, if muted, and is worth more than an eventual footnote in a history book. In the area of foreign policy, he alone had the courage to speak out on issues that the other candidates chose to ignore while puffing out their chests, wrapping themselves in the flag, and boasting of “American Exceptionalism.” The only problem is that many of those who are now crying “legacy,” including Tate and Company, couldn’t have cared less about foreign policy when they might have actually done something to intensify the debate. They obsess about drones in the United States while ignoring their use overseas. They were precisely the folks who failed the campaign or who sold out in the first place. Onward and upward, leaving no man behind has turned into “let us reason together” and let’s “go along to get along.” http://original.antiwar.com/giraldi/2012/10/10/a-dream-dies-but-the-beat-goes-on/

Ron Paul: Government Dependency Will End in Chaos
The media insists on characterizing statements about dependency on government handouts as controversial, but in truth such statements are absolutely correct. It’s not that nearly half of Americans are dependent on government; it’s actually more than half. If one includes not just people on food stamps and welfare, but also seniors on Medicare, Social Security and people employed by the government directly, the number is more like 165 million out of 308 million, which is 53%. Some argue that Social Security and Medicare benefits are a right because people pay into these programs their whole lives, or that we need a government safety net in place for people who fall on hard times. However, this all becomes a moot point when the funds people depend on become worthless due to government default or rampant inflation.
This is less an issue of dignity or dependence on government, and more about the deceitfulness of government promises. http://www.silverdoctors.com/ron-paul-government-dependency-will-end-in-chaos/

Former Reagan OMB Director David Stockman was ‘allowed’ on CNBC this morning – much to their chagrin now we suspect – and espoused his own brand of truthiness, starting with this epic tirade: “Ron Paul is the only one who is right about the Fed, and the Fed is the heart of the problem. They have destroyed the capital markets and the money markets; interest rates mean nothing; everything is trading off the Fed and Wall Street isn’t even home – as it’s now a bunch of computers trading word-clouds emitted by this central banker and that” In this environment, he goes on, everyone is being given the wrong signal – i.e. the Ryan/Romney campaign is about restoring vibrant capitalism; how can you do that when the financial markets are dead – the lifeblood of a capitalist system. What Ron Paul Didn’t Say
A Ron Paul speech at the RNC would have been about really doing what Republicans claim they stand for but never actually do: reduce the size and influence of the federal government. And it would have appealed not only to Republicans, but Democrats and independents as well, just as Paul’s campaign had during primary season. This could not be allowed to happen. He could not be allowed to speak. Instead, Ryan, Romney and others made some exhilarating speeches about free markets, smaller government and restoring America’s founding principles, while every detail of their plans completely contradicts those principles. http://communities.washingtontimes.com/neighborhood/reawakening-liberty/2012/sep/6/what-ron-paul-didnt-say/

Nothing Succeeds Like ‘Success’
Ron Paul’s campaign has been a lodestar for anti-interventionists of the left as well as those on the right: it has inspired us, heartened us, and given us that most essential fuel — hope. Now it is giving us a lesson in how the political system in our “democratic” country really works. The two-party system is playing the role it was designed for: to keep the national discourse within “acceptable” bounds, and make sure nothing too “radical” is presented to the American public for their consideration. Aside from domestic issues, what this means is that our foreign policy of perpetual war is not up for debate: Romney’s straining to define some significant difference between himself and the administration on, say, Afghanistan, or Syria, underscores this filtering process at work. By privileging two state-sanctioned “parties,” the Democrats and the Republicans, with automatic ballot status and government subsidies, the political Establishment has rigged the game, and nothing proves this better than the experience of the Ron Paul campaign in the GOP this past primary season. The Paulians played by the rules: they organized at the grassroots level and got their people to the various local and state conventions, where the real delegate selection process took place. Highly organized, and dedicated to their candidate and their cause, the Paulians showed up in record numbers — and the Republican party bosses freaked out. http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/07/31/nothing-succeeds-like-success/

Security and Self-Governance
by Ron Paul. We should face the sober reality that government cannot protect us from all possible harm. No matter how many laws we pass, no matter how many police or federal agents we put on the streets, no matter how routinely we monitor internet communications, a determined individual or group can still cause great harm. We as individuals are responsible for our safety and the safety of our families. Furthermore, it is the role of civil society rather than government to build a culture of responsible, peaceful, productive individuals. Government cannot mandate morality or instill hope in troubled individuals. External controls on our behavior imposed by government through laws, police, and jails usually apply only after a terrible crime has occurred. Internal self governance, by contrast, is a much more powerful regulator of human behavior than any law. This self-governance must be developed from birth, first by parents but later also through the positive influence of relatives and adult role models. Beyond childhood, character development can occur through religious, civic, and social institutions. Ultimately, self-governance cannot be developed without an underlying foundation of morality. http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul815.html

Basically, Rand Paul came away with nothing in exchange for providing Mitt Romney with some modicum of acceptability and respectability vis-à-vis the millions of Paulistas and tea partyers who support him and his father. Mitt does not want to audit the Fed but would indeed limit government regulation as it relates to himself and his predatory capitalist friends. Rand Paul’s Betrayal
June 7, 2012, a day that will go down in political infamy. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky, son of Presidential candidate and Congressman Ron Paul of Texas, has announced his endorsement of Mitt Romney while appearing on Fox News’ Hannity show. This feels like betrayal; perhaps not of his father Ron but certainly of his father’s supporters in the liberty movement. His fervent supporters are perhaps naively shocked but certainly rightfully incensed and disheartened by this development. The “cult” of Paul is shattered and Webster Tarpley’s description of the Paul campaign as “controlled opposition”, for which Tarpley received a cavalcade of criticism and insult from some Ron Paul supporters, appears all the more prescient. Now, let it be clear, this does not undo Ron Paul’s excellent voting record in the House of Representatives, consistent message of liberty delivered over decades, and willingness to frankly discuss a range of key national issues from the Federal debt to foreign misadventures. However, it raises a number of serious questions and deep concern. http://truthalert.net/How%20Do%20You%20Spell%20Traitor.htm

Millions of us have stood with Ron Paul over the past several years. We have stood for principle, for the rule of law and for a return to the Constitution. We have sacrificed our time, our creativity, our passion – and many of us have sacrificed our money in the noble quest to “Restore America”. We showed up by the tens of thousands at rallies, at marches, at caucuses and at state conventions to support the one candidate we believed in. The one candidate who made us ‘believe’ again. And even after the GOP establishment itself pulled every trick in the book to steal the election from Ron Paul, including changing their very own rules along the way, still we stood – and were willing to continue standing with Ron Paul. But his son has decided not to. Rand has decided that it’s in his best interest and in the best interest of the GOP to pledge his full support to the Republican corporate establishment candidate and Wall Street insider Mitt Romney. http://www.silverdoctors.com/rand-paul-betrayed-someone-but-who/

The Possibility of a Ron Paul Third-Party Run for President
We are certainly at a crossroads in America, with Election 2012. The political ruling class has usurped many of our rights away, and stolen much of the private wealth and capital that had provided jobs and opportunities and had raised the standard of living more than in any other society. But the farce that these elections continue to be merely reinforces my point that such elections are mere rearranging of deck chairs. The Ron Paul people have been following the rules at the state conventions and winning delegates to go to the national convention, while, apparently, the Romney people have been allegedly engaging in cheating and dirty tricks, the latest of which has been in my dreaded state, the People’s Republic of Massachusetts. But why Ron Paul is trying to get the nomination of a party that has been a socialist-neocon-central planning party for 150 years, I’ll never know. The convention will be a Romney-coronation police state nightmare, especially for those who are there on behalf of Paul. http://lewrockwell.com/lazarowitz/lazarowitz47.1.html

What Does Ron Paul Want?
This is the question puzzling Paul’s friends, as well as his enemies. A recent announcement by the campaign that the anti-interventionist Congressman and presidential candidate is not spending money in the remaining primary states provoked a Drudge headline: “Paul Out.” That is the GOP Establishment’s fondest wish, but the reality is that Paul is far from “out”: his campaign is merely recalibrating its tactics, concentrating on getting delegates through the complicated and often arcane process of party caucuses and state conventions. In short, Paul is pursuing the very same strategy he’s been talking about since Day One of his remarkably successful campaign: harnessing the enthusiasm and discipline of his supporters to enter a basically hostile entity – the pro-war, pro-Big Government Republican party – and challenging the Powers That Be. http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/05/17/what-does-ron-paul-want/

President Paul
If elected president, Paul’s most valuable contribution to a prosperous and secure American future might well lie in his application of a noninterventionist foreign policy, following the wishes of George Washington and the other founders. Before explaining why Paul’s foreign policy would benefit the United States, it is worth rebutting those ill-educated jackasses in politics, the media, and the academy who denigrate the founders as “dead white males.” To them, the modern world is so different from Washington’s time that nothing the founders said or wrote pertains to contemporary foreign-policymaking. Such self-serving and ahistoric attitudes allow their advocates to pursue policies negating the Constitution, piling up debt, and fueling relentless intervention abroad. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31274.htm

Penny Unwise, Dollar Insane
If Congress were truly interested in the cost of coinage, it would begin by reining in and eventually abolishing the Federal Reserve System. The Fed alone is responsible for the devaluation of the dollar. The problem with the penny and nickel is not that the price of copper and nickel are rising, but that the purchasing power of the dollar is declining due to the Fed’s currency debasement. The same pattern has been seen throughout history, as debased currency results in the value of the metal content of coins outstripping their face value. Coins disappear from circulation and only paper money circulates. Finally, the currency collapses. Coins will begin to reappear once the monetary unit is restabilized, usually with the introduction of an entirely new currency and after much economic hardship for the people. http://lewrockwell.com/paul/paul801.html

The American Spring Comes to UCLA
It is only the first week of April, but the American Spring is in full bloom. You could feel it in the energy of the 7000+ people who gathered at a stadium on the UCLA campus a few nights ago to see a candidate for president who offers a radical, yet timeless vision of a society based on peaceful, voluntary interaction, rather than coercion and force. At 76, Ron Paul has become a hero to a generation of college students, and at rallies like this one you can almost see his ideas rushing forward – like his vast crowd of supporters pouring in through the stadium doors – to a philosophical tipping point that might be closer than we realize. Not that you would know it from the Republican/Democrat establishment or the dinosaurs of the old network and cable media. Lately, their voices have been united in a call for the primary race to wrap up so we can get down to making the crucial choice between Obamacare and Romneycare. Whose version of the individual mandate will win? Can anyone really tell the difference anyway? http://lewrockwell.com/orig13/walker-a1.1.1.html

You’ve captured the youth vote in practically every contest, while losing among the older set and among hardcore Republican voters. In short, the demographic you do best in winning over is the least likely to be able to vote in a closed Republican primary. However, Americans’ centric view of themselves may not be completely without reason. In fact, after my gratifying conversations with these travelers, I realized that America is still the big elephant in the room that everybody notices when it moves. They may not know all of the small details about local legislation or political bickering but they notice the big moves that send ripple effects across the globe like the wars and the fact that oil trades in U.S. dollars. And that seems to be why they know who Ron Paul is, because he’s the only one talking about bringing about peace by ending the U.S. involvement in foreign wars and the only one who seems to understand how devaluing the dollar affects every economy in the world. http://lewrockwell.com/rep3/ron-paul-respected-around-world.html

Ron Paul’s Delegate Strategy May be Working
Given his campaign’s strategy of focusing on caucuses and out hustling his rivals at local, county, and state conventions nationwide the main beneficiary of a brokered convention would be Texas Congressman Ron Paul. The fact of the matter is that most Americans do not get involved in politics. Many rightly view it as an ugly, corrupt business. Others are too busy following American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, or the latest escapades of Lindsay Lohan. While others would rather leave it to the professionals. But, Ron Paul supporters are different. They may not outnumber the supporters of other candidates, but they are hungrier and more dedicated to their principles. They are much more willing to show up, outlast, and fight for delegate positions than the supporters of rival candidates. These attributes seem to be paying dividends for the Paul campaign at least in the early stages of the delegate selection process. https://theviewfromabroad.wordpress.com/2012/03/12/ron-pauls-delegate-strategy-may-be-working/

How Ron Paul’s Presidency Will Reshape America
America is a place where neighbors rarely speak openly about politics, and when they do, it is usually only to repeat media sound bites. An Obama / Paul race will change that. Two differing ideologies will Clash. One for greater individual freedom. The other for more government. This competition of ideas will not occur with other Republican candidates, since they are ideologically aligned with President Obama when it comes to the power of the individual over the power of the state. Inevitably, debates will take place between the two candidates. Discussions in the new media will take place on the candidates. And most importantly, neighbors will discuss these two ideologies with each other. Because the differences between them are so significant these two candidates will compel us to move beyond the media sound bites and really examine our beliefs about the idea of America and the direction we should take as a nation. http://www.infowars.com/the-great-debate-how-ron-pauls-presidency-will-reshape-america/

And when a President (or any other public office holder) takes his or her oath of office, they do not swear to be a good conservative, or to be a good Christian, or to support the state of Israel, or to “create jobs,” etc., etc. They swear to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. Voting Out the War Party?
There are two conclusions we can draw from the mysterious case of Maine’s vanishing voters: first and foremost is that it isn’t a mystery at all, but the result of a deliberate effort to steal the election for Romney. Secondly, if they’re doing it in Maine, they’re doing it elsewhere: indeed, there is plenty of evidence that’s just what they tried to do in Iowa. If we project the case of Maine’s disappearing voters nationwide, onto all states holding caucuses instead of primaries, then the fraud takes on a scale that threatens to delegitimize the entire process. This at a time when the entire political system is distrusted and even disdained by large portions of the electorate: turnout in the GOP primaries has been significantly lagging this time around, hardly what one would expect from the rank-and-file of a party supposedly eager to overturn the Obama administration. With billionaires buying elections, and both parties under the thumb of the Money Power, ordinary Americans just don’t take elections that seriously anymore. Paul and his movement are onto the War Party’s games, and they are consciously fighting this left-right illusion — with amazing success. The time is right for it: the nation faces a crisis on a scale not seen since the 1930s. Once again we face the twin specters of an economy in collapse and a world at war. Paul cuts through the ideological fog and in doing so breaks with all the conventions, the worn and now useless political labels that have misled us for so long. Smearing him hasn’t worked, mockery has just added to his fame, and ignoring him has seriously backfired on the mainstream media, which has made itself more hated by the Republican rank-and-file than it already is — no mean feat. Their last hope is to co-opt him – or, at least, co-opt his movement. How Ron Paul Could Win
Both Republicans and Democrats have demonstrated disregard for the civil liberty protections guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. Among the visible candidates for president, only Ron Paul has respect for the Constitution. As it is now possible for the executive branch to take away the life and liberty of a U.S. citizen without due process of law, the Constitution is for all practical purposes lost. Tyranny looms, and Ron Paul is the only candidate who stands against tyranny. This is why I have written that Ron Paul is our last chance and encouraged his libertarian handlers to be flexible enough for the electorate to elect Ron Paul. I agree that Ron Paul, if elected president, would be hamstrung by the Establishment, but the other candidates offer no hope whatsoever. What is at stake is not libertarianism, but the U.S. Constitution. Unfortunately, not many libertarians see that. Neither do many progressives. If truth be known, Americans are too divided and in opposition to one another to be able to unite against tyranny. http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2012/01/27/how-ron-paul-could-win/

“I’ve won 12 elections already, and we’re doing quite well now. It’s amazing that I do so much better than those other candidates that are all electable. They’re all in fourth, fifth and sixth place, but they’re all electable, but I come in second or third, and all of the sudden people say, ‘Oh, he’s not electable.’ I don’t know how that adds up.” http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-505263_162-57356769/ron-paul-shrugs-off-electability-concerns/

Defend Corporal Jesse Thorsen

Jesse Thorsen
The elites don’t like us peons speaking out on issues they consider their personal domain, and foreign policy certainly falls into this category. When military figures – big shots like Petraeus – get up there in full uniform, pushing a pro-war agenda – well, that’s just fine and dandy. But let a mere corporal try to get a word in edgewise in the national debate over war and peace, and suddenly the Paul Rieckhoffs of this world are demanding a court martial! http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/01/10/defend-corporal-jesse-thorsen/

Soldier Who Spoke Out for Ron Paul Could Face Trouble

Jesse Thorsen
A veteran in uniform who spoke out in favor of GOP presidential contender Ron Paul and his foreign-policy views after the Iowa Republican caucus could face discipline for potentially having violated military regulations, according to Defense Department officials. But the soldier has already gained a tremendous following online among Paul’s enthusiastic supporters. http://thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/10470-soldier-who-spoke-out-for-ron-paul-could-face-trouble

Veterans and Active Duty Soldiers to March on White House in Support of Ron Paul
The purpose of this event is to make it clear to the American people that Ron Paul is the choice of the troops and the candidate who will have the greatest support from those he would lead as commander-in-chief. This is already evidence by the fact that Ron Paul has recieved more campaign contributions from active duty service members than all other presidential candidates combined, INCLUDING Barrack Obama. http://theintelhub.com/2012/01/09/veterans-and-active-duty-soldiers-to-march-on-white-house-in-support-of-ron-paul/

The Return of the Chickenhawks
What a joy to see Ron Paul take down Newt “Chickenhawk” Gingrich in front of millions of Americans. Slogging through fifteen Republican presidential debates was totally worth it just to witness this defining moment. Dianne Sawyer, who sounded like she was on Quaaludes, raised her eyebrows quizzically as she asked him if he stood by his previous characterization of Newt as a “chickenhawk.” Her tone implied she thought this a little harsh. Paul took this opening and ran with it: “I think people who don’t serve when they could and they get three or four or even five deferments – they have no right to send our kids off to war … I’m trying to stop the wars, but at least, you know, I went when they called me up.” Ouch! Having drawn the first blood of this presidential gladiatorial contest, the good Doctor moved in for the kill. http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2012/01/08/the-return-of-the-chickenhawks/
