France Laid Waste
La France Orange Mécanique (Clockwork Orange France) became an instant best seller in France, finding itself in the top-ten list on Amazon.fr despite no advertising and a virtually unknown author. Even in a climate of reduced book sales, the publisher, Ring, has recently had an additional 18,000 copies printed. Some reviewers note that if this book—which describes the true face of crime in France—had been published before last year’s presidential elections, it might have had an impact on the outcome, swaying votes towards the Right. The book, whose title refers to the 1962 Anthony Burgess novel about “ultra-violence,” begins with an all-too-common event: a white woman is savagely beaten and raped almost to death by a foreigner. This gruesome rape is presented from the victim’s perspective, allowing the reader to grasp the horror of the situation—a horror that can be washed away in a sea of statistics: 7 percent of French women are raped at some point in their lives, and there are 13,000 thefts, 2,000 assaults and 200 rapes every day in France. Behind these statistics, there are personal dramas and shattered lives. For each crime, there is a life that will never be the same. This is what Laurent Obertone wants us to remember: Crime is not a matter of numbers; it is devastating trauma. http://www.amren.com/features/2013/03/france-laid-waste/#.UUSTbvV4giI.email

France, Qatar, and the New World Disorder
According to investigative journalist Silvia Cattori, the barbaric bombing of Aleppo University on January 15 has been officially claimed by the terrorist group the Al Nousra Front. This confirmation should not come as a surprise to those who have been following closely events in the Levant since March 17, 2011, when unknown snipers opened fire in the Southern Syrian town of Deraa killing several policemen and innocent protestors. Since then, snipers and jihadist death squads from Libya, Chechnya, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, and even France and the UK inter alia, backed by NATO intelligence and Gulf petro-monarch cash, have waged a genocidal non-conventional war upon the Syrian people which has relied heavily on a sophisticated international disinformation campaign in the corporate controlled press, whereby all crimes committed by the terrorists are systematically blamed on the Syrian government. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article33716.htm

Burn, Burn — Africa’s Afghanistan
One’s got to love the sound of a Frenchman’s Mirage 2000 fighter jet in the morning. Smells like… a delicious neo-colonial breakfast in Hollandaise sauce. Make it quagmire sauce. Apparently, it’s a no-brainer. Mali holds 15.8 million people – with a per capita gross domestic product of only around US$1,000 a year and average life expectancy of only 51 years – in a territory twice the size of France (per capital GDP $35,000 and upwards). Now almost two-thirds of this territory is occupied by heavily weaponized Islamist outfits. What next? Bomb, baby, bomb. http://atimes.com/atimes/Global_Economy/OA19Dj02.html

Half-Million French Protest Country’s Plan to Legalize Same-Sex Marriage
As France’s socialist government gears up to push for the legalization of same-sex marriage, the French people are fighting back. On January 13 a crowd estimated at around 500,000 took to the streets surrounding Paris’ Eiffel Tower to show their support for traditional marriage and their opposition to normalizing homosexual relationships as “marriage.” Reuters News reported that the massive, half-million-strong crowd marched through the streets of Paris on Sunday, January 13, demanding that Socialist President Francois Hollande withdraw a “reform bill” that would legalize same-sex marriage and give homosexual couples adoption rights. Opponents are demanding a national debate on the issues. http://thenewamerican.com/world-news/europe/item/14242-half-million-french-protest-countrys-plan-to-legalize-same-sex-marriage

Napoleon in Mali
As the French invade Mali under the guise of fighting “Islamic terrorism,” the reawakening of long dormant French imperialism straddles the fine line between comedy and tragedy. A French air strike against a rebel-held town wound up killing over a hundred, including many civilians, but the triumphal mood in Paris soon dimmed when it was suddenly discovered that the mission – dubbed “Serval” by the French, after a North African wildcat – which was supposed to take a few weeks will instead require an extended campaign. Wildcat? Tabby cat is more like it. http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2013/01/15/napoleon-in-mali/

A Tale of Two Frances
It is not a pleasant time to be French. New head of state Francois Hollande promises to be the most ridiculous president ever to occupy the Elysee Palace. Why such a harsh judgment on the dapper gent from Correze? Oh, where does one start? His 75% tax on all incomes over one million euro was ruled unconstitutional in the closing week of 2012 by the country’s Constitutional Council. Since the reason it was rejected is that the tax would allow some millionaires to escape (it only affected personal incomes over a million as opposed to households’ cumulative incomes), Hollande has vowed to come back with an even more draconian measure. Designed to eliminate the country’s massive deficit, it will instead drive wealth out of the country. http://takimag.com/article/a_tale_of_two_frances_charles_coulombe/print#axzz2HnXiZj2d

As Cars Burn in France, the Industry of Hope Booms
New Year’s Eve was the main event. And it didn’t disappoint: 1,193 vehicles were burned in France in the course of a few hours, said Interior Minister Manuel Valls. Up 4% from 2009, when 1,147 vehicles were burned. A tradition no one has the balls to explain. In the days leading up to the annual rite, Valls had promised “complete transparence,” in contrast to the Sarkozy government, which had hushed up the numbers since 2009. But it’s a year-round event: 40,244 vehicles were burned during 2011 and 43,568 the year before. Even Valls was “shocked” by these numbers. http://www.testosteronepit.com/home/2013/1/3/as-cars-burn-in-france-the-industry-of-hope-booms.html

France’s Bloc Identitaire (Identitarian Bloc) held its convention at the beginning of November in Orange, Provence. This was just two weeks after the party’s youth movement Génération Identitaire memorably stormed the construction site of the Poitiers mosque. Poitiers, located in Central-Western France, is near the actual site of the Battle of Tours (referred to as the “Battle of Poitiers” by French historians) in 732 A.D., when Charles Martel, “Mayor of the Palace,” turned back the Islamic advance in Western Europe. http://www.alternativeright.com/main/blogs/euro-centric/remaking-a-people/

French Nationalists Ready for Another Smashing Victory
“Apres moi, le deluge!” – After me, the deluge. So said French king Louis XV, and was he ever right. His successor faced the French Revolution and lost his head. Much the same can be said of France’s outgoing president, Nicholas Sarkozy. The victory of his Socialist rival Francois Holland in last week’s presidential election not only eclipsed the political career of the widely unloved Sarkozy, it left his clumsily-named political party, the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP), facing its own deluge. As Europe’s conservatives watch in dismay and even horror, the second big shoe is about to drop in French politics. Far rightist Marine Le Pen appears set to emerge triumphant from the wreckage of Frances defeated center-right. http://lewrockwell.com/margolis/margolis292.html

France’s Far Right Climbs Out of the Shadows
It wasn’t another French Revolution, but the dramatic showing of France’s far right in last week’s presidential election was a bombshell that left France shaken and Europe confused and alarmed. Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Front party won 18% of the vote in the first round presidential election in which ten candidates competed. Nine were from either left or right, and only one a self-professed centrist. In France, the center has all but vanished. President Nicholas Sarkozy did better than polls had predicted, but the widely anticipated first place win of Socialist Francois Hollande was still a humiliation to the hyperkinetic Sarkozy who sought to wrap himself in the French flag. Polls show Hollande, a bland, unassuming figure, continues to lead Sarkozy in the final runoff election to be held on 6 May. The National Front is no longer on the ballot in the final two-man race, but it remains the hulking 800 lb gorilla in the ornate drawing room of French politics. As Marine Le Pen said, French politics will never be the same again. http://lewrockwell.com/margolis/margolis290.html

On Marine Le Pen and Populism
Le Pen’s victory is clearly an alarm call. As the financial turmoil starts to bite, it becomes clear that we are dealing with a ticking bomb. The way to defuse the situation is to launch a free and open discussion on maters to do with ‘belonging’, ‘identity’ and ‘culture’. The Left has been confused about it all for decades. European Left is riddled with contradiction, it would, for instance, support national movement around the world but never at home. The Left would adorably support Palestinian nationalism in Gaza and the West Bank but it would oppose similar English or French patriotism at home. How do we explain or justify such an unprincipled political attitude? http://www.veteranstoday.com/2012/04/24/on-marine-le-pen-and-populism/

Le Pen Casts a Long Shadow on France’s Presidential Election
Leaders of France’s right-wing National Front (FN) party, long dismissed as dangerous extremists, may finally be realizing their dream of becoming a major force in national politics. Marine Le Pen, the FN presidential candidate and daughter of the party’s founder, drew 18 percent in the first round of voting on April 22. That wasn’t enough to advance her to the second voting round on May 6, but the surprising breadth of her support poses challenges for both President Nicolas Sarkozy and his Socialist opponent, François Hollande. Le Pen has appealed to voters’ anger over a stagnant economy and their fears about crime and immigration. Unhappiness was directed as much against the Socialists as against Sarkozy’s conservative Union for a Popular Movement (UMP). http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2012-04-24/frances-le-pen-casts-a-long-shadow-on-the-presidential-election

The Globalization of Hollow Politics
I went to Lille in northern France a few days before the first round of the French presidential election to attend a rally held by the socialist candidate François Holland. It was a depressing experience. Thunderous music pulsated through the ugly and poorly heated Zenith convention hall a few blocks from the city center. The rhetoric was as empty and cliché-driven as an American campaign event. Words like “destiny,” “progress” and “change” were thrown about by Holland, who looks like an accountant and made oratorical flourishes and frenetic arm gestures that seemed calculated to evoke the last socialist French president, François Mitterrand. There was the singing of “La Marseillaise” when it was over. There was a lot of red, white and blue, the colors of the French flag. There was the final shout of “Vive la France.” I could, with a few alterations, have been at a football rally in Amarillo, Texas. I had hoped for a little more gravitas. But as the French cultural critic Guy Debord astutely grasped, politics, even allegedly radical politics, has become a hollow spectacle. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article31158.htm

Marine Le Pen: Courting the Jews, To No Avail

Marine Le Pen
Marine Le Pen, the daughter of the founder French National Front Jean-Marie Le Pen is doing well in the polls. November last year she even scored higher than the sitting president Nicolas Sarkozy. Moreover, the National Front is doing very well among young voters and the workers. She is gaining momentum and she wants to change the edgy image of the National Front to appeal to a greater public by renouncing anti-Semitism and reaching out at Israel. In November 2011 she was in New York to visit the United Nations, where she had a meeting with the Israeli ambassador Ron Prosor, which later said it was based on a ‘misunderstanding’. No matter how hard Marine Le Pen tries to reach out for Jewish approval she is not going to get it and never will. http://www.theoccidentalobserver.net/2012/02/marine-le-pen-courting-the-jews-to-no-avail/

Activists Fear Sarkozy’s Efforts to Tame Web
Nicolas Sarkozy is all too familiar with the pitfalls of the Internet. It wasn’t long ago that the French president became the victim of an online attack himself, when unknown hackers hijacked his Facebook account and, in his name, circulated the false report that he would not be running for another term in office. Sarkozy reacted with surprising equanimity to the hacker attack, poking fun at the many spelling errors in his adversaries’ message. But, since Monday, Sarkozy has been having a chance to discuss the attack in front of some very important people. He has invited three of the world’s most powerful Internet luminaries to a forum in Paris: Eric Schmidt, the executive chairman of Google, the world’s largest search engine; Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and head of Facebook, the world’s largest social-networking site, with more than 650 million users; and Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer. http://www.spiegel.de/international/europe/0,1518,764305,00.html

The Energy Vampires
To hear the “humanitarian” interventionists tell it, the NATO alliance is currently bombing Libya in order to avert an alleged “massacre” that may – or may not – happen if Moammar Gadhafi gets his hands on the rebels now holding the eastern province known as Cyrenaica. It’s just a coincidence that Libya is a major oil producer, and that the NATO allies demanding the dictator’s ouster are thirsty for the stuff. If you believe otherwise, well then you’ve fallen victim to a “conspiracy theory,” as any number of unrepentant neocons will tell you. During the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, they were disdainful of the claim that their pet project was a thinly disguised oil grab, and still deny it. Yet now the documentary evidence is in, and it looks like the “war for oil” crowd was right, at least insofar as it concerns Tony Blair’s key supporting role as Bush’s British lapdog. French Fraud Behind Libya War Drive

neo-con Bernard Henri-Lévy
The Libyan war has the French, of all people, in the forefront, with President Nicolas Sarkozy’s smug, self-satisfied face mugging for the camera as French fighter jets scream in the skies over Tripoli. The French, who sat out the Iraq war with haughty disdain, are now even more eager than the Americans to get into the thick of it: Sarkozy, in trouble at home, is hoping to distract critics from France’s ever-worsening domestic economic woes and his own party’s diminishing electoral prospects, with a good old-fashioned dollop of Napoleonic tonic. France – once again thrusting into North Africa in search of its former imperial glory! It’s enough to make one nostalgic for the Ugly American. If the insufferable Sarkozy isn’t enough to make you vow never to eat French fries again, then the man behind Sarkozy’s grandstanding, Bernard Henri-Lévy, the French “public intellectual” and renowned phony, will push you over the edge into outright Francophobia. http://original.antiwar.com/justin/2011/04/05/french-fraud-behind-libya-war-drive/

France has some 751 “No Go” zones. The French government has labeled these areas “sensitive urban zones” that are dangerous for whites and non-Muslims to enter. France Sees Tensions Rise Five Years on from Paris Riots
When Angela Merkel declared that multiculturalism in Germany had “utterly failed”, some saw it as a vindication of the French integrationist approach. Under the republican model, multiculturalism is seen as taboo. In France, once a French citizen you leave cultural and ethnic differences at the border and are theoretically seamlessly assimilated into the republic. Everyone is equal before a state that is blind to colour, race and religion. Ethnic minorities do not officially exist as it is illegal to classify and count people by ethnicity. French Journalist Latest Victim of Europe’s Racism Witch Trials
France is the future, and I mean that in the worst possible way. Mark Steyn might have been exaggerating when he said that France will be the world’s third Islamic nuclear power, but I’m certainly not sure whether I should bother teaching my kids French, or if Arabic may be more handy on their trips across the channel. But if Steyn’s prediction does turn out to be true it will be because of the French habit of sticking their heads in the sand. France was, after all, the first country in Western Europe to ban opinions when it passed its ridiculous Holocaust Denial law, which set the ball rolling for restrictions on free speech across Europe. And laws once used against Nazi-loving cranks are now used to criticise any opponents of mass immigration. This is a country that, as anyone who’s visited its seedy cities in recent years can testify, has undergone enormous immigration from North and sub-Saharan Africa, and not all of it has been “enriching”. Not that we can know exactly what the downsides are, because France bans statistics on ethnicity and crime. http://www.nationalpolicyinstitute.org/2010/04/12/a-french-journalist-has-become-the-latest-victim-of-europes-racism-witch-trials-by-ed-west/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+NationalPolicyInstitute+%28National+Policy+Institute%29
