Japan as an American Client State

aa-Japan - japanese and american flags The American-triggered regime change in Ukraine at the Western end of the Eurasian continent has been widely discussed. Less noticed, if at all, has been the American-triggered change of government in Japan four years ago as part of the so-called ‘pivot’ aimed at holding back China on the Eastern end. The two ought to be considered together, since they share a purpose known as ‘Full Spectrum Dominance’. A military ambition and agenda, this provides much activist energy among America’s neoconservatives and their fellow travelers, which include sundry financial and commercial interests. Made up of many parts, like the recently established “Africom” (U.S. Africa Command), the comparable effort to contain/isolate/denigrate the two former communist enemy giants, China and Russia, may be considered a central aim. It does not add up to a feasible strategy for long-term American interests, but few American initiatives have been so in the recent past. Since neoconservatives, ‘liberal hawks’ and neoliberals appear to have captured the State Department and White House, and their activism has already produced significant geopolitical instability, it would be no luxury to dig deeper in developments on the rather neglected Asian side of the globe. http://www.unz.com/article/the-american-world-empire-japan-as-a-vassal-state/

The Economist Would Benefit from Mass Immigration

The Enduring Myth of Hiroshima

aa-Japan - Hiroshima aftermath The U.S. atomic destruction of 140,000 people at Hiroshima and 70,000 at Nagasaki was never “necessary” because Japan was already smashed, no land invasion was needed and Japan was suing for peace. Fukushima’s Children are Dying

aa-Fukushima Some 39 months after the multiple explosions at Fukushima, thyroid cancer rates among nearby children have skyrocketed to more than forty times (40x) normal. More than 48 percent of some 375,000 young people–nearly 200,000 kids–tested by the Fukushima Medical University near the smoldering reactors now suffer from pre-cancerous thyroid abnormalities, primarily nodules and cysts. The rate is accelerating. http://www.opednews.com/populum/printer_friendly.php?content=a&id=180047

Japanese Prepare For ‘Abenomics Failure,’ Scramble to Buy Physical Gold

aa-gold As we reported yesterday, the world’s most clueless prime minister, Japan’s Shinzo Abe, has suddenly found himself in a “no way out” situation, with inflation for most items suddenly soaring (courtesy of exported deflation slamming Europe), without a matched increase in wages as reflected in the “surprising” tumble in household spending, which dropped 2.5% on expectations of a 0.1% increase in the month ahead of Japan’s infamous sales tax hike. How does one explain this unwillingness by the public to buy worthless trinkets and non-durable goods and services ahead of an imminent price surge? Simple – while the government may have no options now, the same can not be said of its citizens who have lived next to China long enough to know precisely what to do when faced with runaway inflation, and enjoying the added benefit of a collapsing curency courtesy of Kuroda’s “wealth effect.” That something is to buy gold, of course, lots of it. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-03-28/japanese-prepare-abenomics-failure-scramble-buy-physical-gold

Return of the Japan Scam

aa-Franklin Roosevelt By means of an economic blockade, a noose was being placed around Japan’s neck. The US, Britain, Holland, and China had encircled Japan through economic pressure, but also naval forces in the region of the Philippines, Singapore, and Malaya were redeployed and strengthened. Yet despite all the provocations, Japan attempted to negotiate with the great powers and made concession after concession in the hope of finding a peaceful solution. The Japanese are not stupid. They knew that Uncle Sam had the ability to produce warplanes and material that little Japan had no hope of ever approaching. Japan finally decided to go to war on December 1, 1941, and we all know the rest. Roosevelt got his war by ignoring the warnings that Japan was about to attack the fleet at Pearl. He has the blood of dead Americans on his hands, as well as the blood of those who died fighting Japan and Germany during the next four years. His bloodthirsty successor, the ex-haberdasher Truman, did himself proud by dropping the A-bombs. His excuse was that he did it to save American lives in the invasion of Japan. The unconditional surrender Uncle Sam demanded, and the fact that Japan was desperately looking to end the war, ensured that Japan’s militarists had the final say. Almost seventy years later, even after Stalin’s and Mao’s crimes of over 100 million dead have been revealed, what does good Uncle Sam do? He allows people such as Sneider to stir the pot and with the help of Hollywood remind us of the little yellow men who mistreated pilots that had incinerated their wives and mothers. http://takimag.com/article/return_of_the_japan_scam_taki/print#axzz2wEO8s0NZ

The Fukushima Secrecy Syndrome

aa-Fukushima Last month, the ruling Japanese coalition parties quickly rammed through Parliament a state secrets law. We Americans better take notice. Under its provisions the government alone decides what are state secrets and any civil servants who divulge any “secrets” can be jailed for up to 10 years. Journalists caught in the web of this vaguely defined law can be jailed for up to 5 years. Government officials have been upset at the constant disclosures of their laxity by regulatory officials before and after the Fukushima nuclear power disaster in 2011, operated by Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO). Week after week, reports appear in the press revealing the seriousness of the contaminated water flow, the inaccessible radioactive material deep inside these reactors and the need to stop these leaking sites from further poisoning the land, food and ocean. Officials now estimate that it could take up to 40 years to clean up and decommission the reactors. http://www.counterpunch.org/2014/01/24/the-fukushima-secrecy-syndrome/#.UuUP7mIUDXU.email

Japan’s Biggest Challenge Since 1945

World War II has never really ended for Japan. Sixty-eight years after the battleship US “Missouri” sailed into Tokyo Bay to receive the surrender of the Japanese Empire, Japan still behaves like a meek, defeated nation rather than one of the world’s great powers – and great peoples. Economically, Japan is a giant, albeit a staggering one. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe’s Liberal Democratic Party just secured full control of both houses of Japan’s parliament. Abe’s “three-arrow” reform program has injected new life in Japan’s formerly stagnant $5 trillion economy industry and driven down the over-valued yen. But militarily, Japan remains a midget. Its so-called Self-Defense Forces were designed to stop a Soviet amphibious invasion of the northern islands. Japan’s US-written pacifist constitution prohibits all offensive military operations or exports of arms and military equipment. http://www.lewrockwell.com/2013/07/eric-margolis/japan-is-still-subservient-to-its-wwii-enemies/

Thus Sprach Hashimoto

Toru Hashimoto

In the wake of the Jason Richwine Affair, the latest in a long line of similar incidents in which politicians, academics, and journalists have been made examples of for straight talking, it is important to consider the importance of free speech to any healthy society. Living in Japan gives me an interesting point of comparison, because, in this country, there is still plenty of room for straight talking, even if the talking sometimes goes straight to some odd places. While the multicultural West has slid increasingly into a pit of self-censorship, mystification, fuzziness, and coded language in its public discourse, Japan practices what the West can only preach now: actual free speech. Almost at the same moment that America was getting its knickers in a twist over some innocuous, common sense statements from Jason Richwine about Hispanics being likely to remain where they are on the multi-kulty totempole that is America, here in Japan we were being treated to a nationally prominent politician saying the kind of things that would have you instantly tarred, feathered, lynched, and damned in the West. http://alternativeright.com/blog/2013/5/15/thus-sprach-hashimoto

Narcissism, Consumerism and the End of Growth

What we’re seeing in Japan is the confluence of three dynamics: definancialization, the demise of growth-positive demographics and the devolution of the consumerist model of endless “demand” and “growth.” Japan is the leading-edge of the crumbling model of advanced neoliberal capitalism: that consumerist excess creates wealth, prosperity and happiness. What consumerist excess actually creates is alienation, social atomization, narcissism, and a profound contradiction at the heart of the consumerist-dependent model of “growth”: the narcissism that powers consumerist lust and identity is at odds with the demands of the workplace that generates the income needed to consume. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2012-10-20/guest-post-narcissism-consumerism-and-end-growth

The Lies of Hiroshima are the Lies of Today

Hiroshima after The Bomb was dropped

Since 1945, the United States is believed to have been on the brink of using nuclear weapons at least three times. In waging their bogus “war on terror”, the present governments in Washington and London have declared they are prepared to make “pre-emptive” nuclear strikes against non-nuclear states. With each stroke toward the midnight of a nuclear Armageddon, the lies of justification grow more outrageous. Iran is the current “threat”. But Iran has no nuclear weapons and the disinformation that it is planning a nuclear arsenal comes largely from a discredited CIA-sponsored Iranian opposition group, the MEK – just as the lies about Saddam Hussein’s weapons of mass destruction originated with the Iraqi National Congress, set up by Washington. The role of western journalism in erecting this straw man is critical. That America’s Defence Intelligence Estimate says “with high confidence” that Iran gave up its nuclear weapons programme in 2003 has been consigned to the memory hole. That Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad never threatened to “wipe Israel off the map” is of no interest. But such has been the mantra of this media “fact” that in his recent, obsequious performance before the Israeli parliament, Gordon Brown alluded to it as he threatened Iran, yet again. This progression of lies has brought us to one of the most dangerous nuclear crises since 1945, because the real threat remains almost unmentionable in western establishment circles and therefore in the media. There is only one rampant nuclear power in the Middle East and that is Israel. The heroic Mordechai Vanunu tried to warn the world in 1986 when he smuggled out evidence that Israel was building as many as 200 nuclear warheads. In defiance of UN resolutions, Israel is today clearly itching to attack Iran, fearful that a new American administration might, just might, conduct genuine negotiations with a nation the west has defiled since Britain and America overthrew Iranian democracy in 1953. http://johnpilger.com/articles/the-lies-of-hiroshima-are-the-lies-of-today

U.S. Army General: The Whole Northern Hemisphere is at Risk of Becoming Largely Uninhabitable

When the Fukushima nuclear plants sustained structural damage and a catastrophic failure of their spent fuel cooling systems in the aftermath of the Japanese earthquake and Tsunami in 2011, it left the government of Japan, Tokyo Power and nuclear regulatory agencies around the world powerless to contain the release of deadly radiation. A year on, the battle for control of Fukushima continues to no avail. http://www.shtfplan.com/headline-news/u-s-army-general-the-whole-northern-hemisphere-is-at-risk-of-becoming-largely-uninhabitable_05252012

The entire blame for the Fukushima failure can be laid entirely at the feet of Enviromentalists. For the Left, nuclear energy is the great bogey man. For years they have managed to keep the nuclear industry from modernizing their plants, let alone build newer, better, and safer plants. They have been especially sucessful in the United States, but also in Japan, and Europe (France being something of an exception). The fact is that Nuclear Energy has a very safe record. The number of incidents relative to operational hours is extrememly low. Of course when you do get a failure, it can be spectacular (a large gasoline refinery that explodes is pretty spectacular too). Nuclear reactor design has come a long way and several new designs have much promise in finally providing a Nuclear Reactor platform that may even be fail-safe. One such design is the Pebble Bed reactor. For all the gory details see the link below. Anyone who thinks that our National energy needs are going to be meet by wind power or solar power is seriously deluded (most leftist enviromentalists are). It isn't going to happen. We only have two realistic choices at this point. Coal, or nuclear. If we can develop a Pebble Bed (or similar)reactor that is fail-safe it would be the answer to our energy needs for virtually forever. And, a Pebble Bed reactor is much, much, more environmentally friendly than coal. http://web.mit.edu/pebble-bed/papers1_files/PBReactors.pdf

Japan’s Lost Libido and America’s Asexual Future

Whether it is due to disgust at the misery of their circumstances, or the side-effect of drugs intended to dull the misery of their circumstances, women are abandoning sexuality. When human beings cease to desire each other physically, it is because they have ceased to desire each other at all. The things that motivate human beings to unite in intimate and permanent union, procreating and acculturating another generation, give way to the pure exercise of ego. The typical American household no longer harbors a family but a person living alone. As Eric Klinenberg reports in his much-commented new book Going Solo, 28% of all American households now contain a single person, compared to just 9% in 1950. http://www.atimes.com/atimes/Japan/NC13Dh01.html

I would not be in the least bit surprised if these people would not some day become deadly to the human race.” (Lettres de Memmius a Ciceron, 1771) Well, was Voltaire on the mark or not? Japanese Don’t Loot

The media are cautiously beginning to note that the earthquake/tsunami in Japan has not resulted in a single reported case of looting or even disorderly behavior. Dazed residents have gone back to smashed houses to salvage what they can, but no one worries about thieves. Thousands of homeless line up quietly and politely as they wait for emergency food and water. The contrast with what happened after the Haiti earthquake last January or Hurricane Katrina in 2005 could not be more stark. In both cases, there was an almost immediate descent into savagery, with police officers joining in the looting. In New Orleans, evacuation centers became nightmares of violence and lawlessness, and the National Guard had to carry weapons on relief missions. In Haiti, tent cities for the quake victims became scenes of mass rape. http://www.amren.com/mtnews/archives/2011/03/japanese_dont_l.php

You Can Stop Worrying About a Radiation Disaster in Japan

I repeat, there was and will *not* be any significant release of radioactivity from the damaged Japanese reactors. By “significant” I mean a level of radiation of more than what you would receive on – say – a long distance flight, or drinking a glass of beer that comes from certain areas with high levels of natural background radiation. I have been reading every news release on the incident since the earthquake. There has not been one single report that was accurate and free of errors (and part of that problem is also a weakness in the Japanese crisis communication). By “not free of errors” I do not refer to tendentious anti-nuclear journalism – that is quite normal these days. By “not free of errors” I mean blatant errors regarding physics and natural law, as well as gross misinterpretation of facts, due to an obvious lack of fundamental and basic understanding of the way nuclear reactors are build and operated. I have read a 3 page report on CNN where every single paragraph contained an error. http://www.businessinsider.com/japan-reactors-pose-no-risk-2011-3#ixzz1Ggw8lkTx

Nope, your wrong. Im just experienced and educated. I see that you immediately think that I am defending a company that I work for because I state facts that you dont possess. It shows a little overzealousness to point fingers and place blame. I hope that all of you get educated on nuclear power, wind power and I could care less about solar power. I know that there are dangers with nuclear power, however their are just as many dangers with fossil plants. There have been three major incidents in the industry since and including Chernobyl. How many coal mines have collapsed killing hundreds? How many shafts have exploded killing hundreds? How many dollars have been spent cleaning up coal dumps that have washed into river systems? Ask T.V.A. how expensive that can be. They are in the process of reconstructing Bellafonte power plant in Stevenson, AL. It is nuclear and only about 40 miles from me. I would rather have 5 nuke palnts than 1 coal plant in driving distance. I hope that you all study and research power options for our country instead of trying to point out faults.

We see a record magnitude earthquake and a 30' tsunami (where water wieghs just over 8 lbs per gallon) and the reactors maintain their structural composure. We have failure of power to the reactor cooling system and a loss of the generators due to the tsunami therefore losing cooling systems. Could this be a fault of the countrymen that ran the cables to provide power? Could this be the fault of the Japanese engineers that designed the power grid for the plant? Do you know exactly what failed and why? or, are you just looking for the nest escape goat to ride out of town? Have you ever been to or in a Nuke plant? Do you know the procedures for hatural disasters? Or, are you just showing your ignorance by speaking out of turn? I know the procedures. I have been in every part of the conatainment. I have looked down over the fuel plate. I have inspected reactor pressure domes. I have seen everything first hand. Until you have, please keep your coments to yourself. It is a disgrace that an individual would immediately place blame for the loss of homes, family, lives, and livelyhoods without knowing any facts to back up their opinion. We now have reactors which are extremely safe. In some of the designs it is physically impossible for a core meltdown to even ocurr. But thanks to the nuclear boogey-man that the left-wing environmentalists always bring out of the closet we are presently stuck with old nuclear reactor designs and this is the result.
