At one point Paul mocked the little knot of anti-racist protestors camped outside the hotel. How, he asked, could this fairly be called “protest”? What did they think they were doing—sticking it to the Man? “Yo, guys: You ARE the Man!” True enough. Time was, protest meant brave dissenters standing in proud defiance against the massed forces of Establishment power. Racial Favoritism and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra

Earlier this year, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) decided to disinvite two predominantly white high school choral groups from performance in the ASO’s holiday concert. The ASO’s decision was reportedly motivated by the high schools’ lack of diversity, which caused a stir among people who believe in racial justice as opposed to racial favoritism. The ASO didn’t admit that their decision was racially motived. In fact, ASO vice president of marketing Charlie Wade offered only benign reasons for their decision in public. To get to the bottom of what happened, I used the Georgia Open Records Act to find out ASO’s real reason for disinviting the non-diverse choral groups. Previously unpublished emails reveal that the ASO’s true reason was to “diversify the chorus” and to add “a chorus featuring more African-American kids,” as ASO marketing VP Charlie Wade privately wrote. This is blatant racial favoritism, reflecting the exact opposite of the ASO’s public remarks. Prior to obtaining the emails, I had been critical of the ASO’s astounding hypocrisy with regard to diversity. There are 100 musicians comprising the ASO, and only one is black, yet the ASO had the gall to implicitly fault local Walton and Lassiter high schools for being non-diverse. ‘Knockout Games’ a Hit With Black Mobs

The “Knockout Games” have come to Pennsylvania: Two bouts. Both on video. Starting in Pittsburgh earlier this month, a mob of six black people walking through a downtown alley they saw Jim Addlespurger coming from the opposite direction. One of the mob reared back and punched the 50-year-old English teacher in the face. Michael Weaver—Yet Another Railroaded Political Prisoner?

When Zimmerman wasn’t scared off by the fake gun display, Trayvon pulled his hoodie over his face and began to run. Now why would Trayvon do this unless he actually was casing homes in the area for burglaries and he wanted to hide his identity from the Neighborhood Watchman who had just seen him doing that? Trayvon managed to run somewhere that Zimmerman couldn’t see from his truck driving down the street. White Middle-Schooler Beaten Unconscious by Group of Black Students

The girl reportedly was riding the bus for the first time. Someone threw a shoe at her, and she threw it back, hitting a student. That’s when the beating began. At least seven students surrounded the girl, punched her, held her head to the floor by her hair, and kicked her. The bus driver pulled the bus over, stopped the beating, and then continued driving. But the beating started again, so the driver diverted to a nearby school and called officials, and the girl was taken to the hospital. Aside from the brutality, there was another troubling fact about this crime—a fact that predictably did not make it into the news: the attackers were black, and the victim was white. Social Degeneration

Someone at long last has had the courage to tell the plain, honest truth about race. After mobs of young blacks rampaged through Philadelphia committing violence—as similar mobs have rampaged through Chicago, Denver, Milwaukee and other places—Philadelphia’s black mayor, Michael A. Nutter, ordered a police crackdown and lashed out at the whole lifestyle of those who did such things. The media almost never identify the race of the thugs. Their reticence would disappear were a white mob in some Southern city to be caught beating up on black shoppers at a mall. This Ain’t the Summer of Love

The post-racial dream has become a nightmare. The use of social media to take over public space by surprise (the definition of “flash mob”, alas) for the purpose of recreational racist terror is this summer’s trend. Affected municipalities across the country brace themselves ahead of heat waves and large public events; holiday weekends loom like potential squalls on the horizon. Suburbanites surrender the city and stay home; events are cancelled, scaled back, starved. The Knockout Game: Racial Violence and the Conspicuous Silence of the Media

The flash mobs, which are more accurately called “race riots” or “racial mob violence,” are not the only interesting topic to cover in our national conversation about race. There is also the “knockout game,” which is stunning in its brutal simplicity and stark racial significance. The knockout game involves “unprovoked attacks on innocent bystanders,” according to police who have had to deal with it. A retired officer explained, “Normally it was a group of black males, one of which would strike him as hard as he could in the face, attempting to knock him out with one punch,” says retired Sgt. Don Pizzo. The victims are typically not robbed, but simply punched with no provocation. The Start of a Long, Hot Summer?

Last year, Alternative Right editor Richard Spencer wrote about an emerging pattern in black crime which he referred to as “Race Riots 2.0.” He noted that blacks no longer seemed content to riot in their own neighborhoods as they did during the Los Angeles Riots of 1992, but were bent on giving whites a direct taste of diversity. Quilty Plea in Racially Motivated Attack on White Teen

One of two men charged in a West Seattle attack alleged to have been racially motivated has pleaded guilty to robbery and hate crime charges.

Pleading guilty as charged last month, Ahmed Mohamed, 23, told the court he and co-defendant Jonathan N. Baquiring attacked a West Seattle teen on May 25 because the youth was white.

“I along with Jonathan Baquiring robbed (the 16-year-old) by stealing items from his pockets while threatening to cap him, whipping him with his belt and burning him with cigarettes,” Mohamed told the court. “We also displayed a knife … held it to his neck and threatened to cut his throat.

Black Judge Rejects Plea Deal for “White Boy”

PITTSBURGH — A black judge from western Pennsylvania rejected a plea agreement for a man accused of fighting with police during a traffic stop, saying it was “a ridiculous plea that only goes to white boys.”

The plea agreement was for a sentence of three months probation. Allegheny County Judge Joseph Williams said on Tuesday that a black defendant in that situation would not have been treated as leniently.

In court, Williams told Assistant District Attorney Brian Catanzarite that he “for some reason comes up with I think ridiculous pleas whenever it’s a young white guy,” according to The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. “I’m just telling you what my observation is. Shane McClellan’s Assailants Finally Charged

Ahmed Mohamed and Jonathan Baquiring have each been charged with first-degree robbery and malicious harassment, the state’s hate crime statute. Baquiring was arrested Tuesday evening; police are looking for Mohamed.

According to court documents filed this week in King County Superior Court, 16-year-old Shane McClellan says he was walking home from a party early on May 25 when two men asked him for a light. He told police the two robbed him and beat him for four hours, whipping him with his own belt. According to a police report, the two men, one black and one Filipino, made comments like, “How do you like it, white boy?” and “This is for enslaving our people.” McClellan is white.

The latest national security leak is a shocking e-mail from a Navy admiral on “Diversity Accountability.” The message, sent to a list of other flag officers, notes that “a change in focus of this year’s diversity brief is the desire to identify our key performers (by name) and provide insight on each of them.” Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Gary Roughead, who apparently originated this order, “is interested in who are the diverse officers with high potential and what is the plan for their career progression. He may ask what is being done within to ensure they are considered for key follow on billets within the Navy.”

Man Kills 8 Co-Workers, Self, Media Blames “Racial Harrassment”

MANCHESTER, Conn. — Nine people are dead in a workplace shooting at a family-owned beer and wine wholesaler, police said.

Sources said Omar S. Thornton, 34, was a driver for Hartford Distributors and was described by a Teamsters Union official as a recent hire and a “disciplinary problem.”

“The union was bringing him in to meet with the company to remedy the problem,” said John Hollis, a Teamsters official. “He started shooting.”

“Civil Rights Activist” Proclaims Charges of Racism Against Tea Party a Tactic, not a Truth

Former U.S. Commission on Civil Rights Chairman Mary Frances Berry, a long-time prominent liberal activist, has admitted in an interview with Politico that the left is trying to smear the tea party movement as “racist” for strategic reasons, not out of genuine concern that the movement is itself racist.

Berry called the tactic an “effective strategy” and chose not to denounce it.

Wilkes-Barre School District Needs More Non-White Teachers?

The Wilkes-Barre NAACP recommends that whatever new policy the district comes up with that diversity be an essential component of that policy. While minority students account for nearly forty percent of the student enrollment in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. Minority teachers account for less than two percent. Those statistics alone should have served as an alarm to school administrators, and driven the need to include diversity as part of any hiring policy put forth by the school district.

The NAACP had put forth a five year proposal to the Wilkes-Barre Area School District that we felt would help increase the number of minority teachers from six to fifteen. Less than two teachers per year. Our ultimate goal was to see some correlation between the minority student enrollment, and the percentage of minority teachers in the Wilkes-Barre Area School District.

The state Republican Party yesterday denounced state House candidate Ryan J. Murdough of Ashland, after Murdough wrote a letter to the Monitor saying he is state chairman of the American Third Position party. The American Third Position is dedicated to representing the interests of white Americans, according to its website.

State Republicans said Murdough will not be allowed to use any state party resources. In response, the Third Position party wrote on its website yesterday that its party will help Murdough.
